Louisiana State Treasurer John Schroder talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about his recent comments to the Ouichita Parish Republican Women's Club, where he told his audience that, "We are on a path to disaster and I don't care how much the governor runs around Louisiana and tells you how great things are."

Schroder tells KEEL listeners that no matter what Governor John Bel Edwards and his supporters say about the condition of the Louisiana economy, the state is in dire financial circumstances.

"Louisiana Treasurer John Schroder said the state is headed for financial disaster as budget hearings began in Baton Rouge Monday in advance of the start of next week's Legislative Session.'

"The Republican criticized Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards, accusing him of growing government on a faster pace than private incomes.'

"Budget hearings are under way in Baton Rouge even though there's no set road map for the amount of revenue the state will have to spend."
