As the fallout continues over the Supreme Court's 5-3 ruling to strike down a Texas abortion law on Monday, U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy took some time out of his schedule to speak with Rob Kirkpatrick of "Acadiana's Morning News" about the ruling, the Zika virus and how it relates to military funding and an area where he believes GOP Presidential nominee Donald Trump could capitalize in his bid to win the White House.

In addressing the abortion ruling, Sen. Cassidy spoke from his doctor's perspective and touched on his two areas of concern regarding the ruling - hospital admitting privileges and stardards that are kept at the facilities themselves. The Texas law required abortion doctors to have admitting privileges at hospitals.

When it came to the Zika virus, he discussed fighting the disease and how it relates to military funding.

"We need to defeat Zika before it gets to our shore."

Sen. Cassidy also touched on the Clean Power Plan and its potential impact on jobs and how he believes Trump can capitalize on that.
