The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns will be adding a transfer pitcher from a Big XII school.


A native of Texarkana, Texas, McDonald has has battled injuries since 2017, when he appeared in 14 games for the Red Raiders, including 3 starts, compiling a 5.31 ERA.

In 20.1 innings as a redshirt freshman that season, McDonald allowed 12 earned runs on 23 hits, while striking out 17 hitters.

A prep standout, prior to his stint at Texas Tech, McDonald compiled a 10-2 record with a 0.67 ERA in his senior season at Maud High School, while tossing four no-hitters.

For his work, McDonald earned All-State First Team honors.

Armed with a mid-90's fastball, the 6-foot-3, 200-pound McDonald will have two years of eligibility remaining when he becomes eligible to pitch for the Cajuns in 2020.
