A longtime member of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajun men's basketball coaching staff is leaving to join another state program.

Johnson, who became an assistant coach at UL during the 2009-2010 seasons, joins the staff of new Tulane coach Ron Hunter, who was previously the head coach at Georgia St.

Prior to his time with the Cajuns, Johnson spent three seasons as an assistant at Nicholls St., while also spending time at in-state schools Louisiana Tech and Centenary, where he served as an assistant before assuming head coaching duties for the Gents from 1999-2005.

A former college player at UTPA, Johnson, who played his high school basketball at Morgan City High School, also worked on the staffs of UTPA and Northwestern St.
