Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball team scored 5 unanswered runs to procure a 5-3 victory over Texas State Saturday in San Marcos, and with it, capture their 47th consecutive Sun Belt Conference series win.

It has been nearly 6 years since Louisiana last lost a conference series.

Louisiana scored 1 run in the top of the 2nd, but Texas State answered with 3 runs of their own, all unearned, in the bottom of the 2nd after a Cajuns error.

In the top of the 4th, Kourtney Gremillion blased a 2 run homer to right center to tie it at 3.

Pitcher Summer Ellyson took over in the circle in the bottom of the 4th, pitching the rest of the way for Louisiana and earning her 11th win of the season.

In the top of the 6th, the Ragin' Cajuns added another run off the bat of Gremillion when she delivered an RBI double.

Louisiana finished the game with 10 hits, 4 extra base hits, and 5.2 innings of scoreless relief pitching from Ellyson and Carrie Boswell.

With the win, Louisiana improves to 17-3 on the season, and 2-0 in Sun Belt Conference play.

The series concludes tomorrow at 12:30, with pregame beginning at 12:15 on ESPN1420, espn1420.com and the ESPN 1420 mobile app.
