The UL Softball team played Troy for the final game of their weekend series. Going into the game the Cajuns had already won the series. So against Troy, they were looking to get the sweep. The Cajuns in fact did get the sweep and won 10-0!

Normally we like to begin with discussing the hitting first; however, the pitching and defense were phenomenal today. Sam Landry was on the mound and she only gave up 1 hit, threw 2 strikeouts, and 1 walked one batter. She faced 22 batters and only gave up 1 hit. That is incredible but you also have to give credit to the rest of the defense for having her back and handling business in the field. So shoutout to Shutdown Sam!

Now when it comes to the bats, the Cajuns continued their dominance from the previous games this weekend. Stormy Kotzelnick, Karly Heath, and Kayla Falterman all hit triples. Kotzelnick and Falterman each got an RBI as well. Jourdyn Campbell also hit a walk-off homerun to end the game and batted in 3 runners. While Maddie Hayden also batted in 2 runners. The bats were on fire.

The Cajuns now move to 26-10 on the season. They won't be back on the diamond until April 12th against Southeastern. The game will take place at 6:00 pm.
