The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns advance to the Sun Belt Conference Championship Game by defeating the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers 5-2 on Friday.

The Cajuns were the visiting team in this match-up and they came out of the gates quick scoring a run without the benefit of a hit as Keeli Milligan scored on an RBI groundout from Raina O'Neal, 1-0 UL.

However, in the bottom of the inning, the Chanticleers came out swinging. First, Stavi Augur roped a single and Kassidy Smith cut through the wind to put one over the left field wall to give Coastal the lead at 2-1.

Louisiana would roar back in the fourth and fifth innings as in the fourth Alissa Dalton came up with a clutch job by knocking in two runs with two outs. In the fifth, it was a power and speed attack, a solo home run by Sarah Hudek and then Keeli Milligan stole second, advanced to third on a bad throw, and scored on a wild pitch. 5-2 UL.

That would end up being all the offense that Summer Ellyson needed as she was phenomenal again going the distance allowing just two runs on five hits and struck out eight. With the win, she improved to 36-4 on the season.

As for the Cajuns as a whole, they ran their winning streak to 26 games and are now 49-4 overall.

Up next for Louisiana, they'll play the winner of the losers bracket on Saturday at 1 p.m.
