The latest jobs report shows the state's unemployment rate rose slightly for the month of November to eight-point-two percent. The federal Bureau of Labor Statistics says the number of Louisiana residents listed as jobless rose to 172,000. Even though the unemployment rate is on the rise, the number of people in the state working has increased. Patty Granier with the Louisiana Workforce Commission says the latest data shows there were 23,000 more non-farm jobs last month than in 2009.
