Louisiana will be all the way back from the coronavirus pandemic when all of our visitors, and then some, are back. That's the way I see it. The pandemic has wreaked havoc on one of our state's leading economic drivers over the past year and a half. Of course, I am speaking of tourism.

You might recall Louisiana experienced record tourism numbers in 2019 and then the pandemic struck. The good news is that as of today Governor John Bel Edwards is lifting almost all of the state-issued coronavirus restrictions. That means that not only can Louisiana residents get out and explore our state but we can officially welcome guests back to the Sportsman's Paradise.

Now, if we have company coming we are going to need some help in making sure that they are taken care of a treated well. That's why the Louisiana Workforce Commission is holding a virtual job fair today. Actually, they're holding job fair's all week but today's focuses exclusively on Tourism and Hospitality.

If you are looking for work in either of those fields you'll want to log on to the Louisiana Workforce Job Fair website and be ready to visit with prospective employers between one and four this afternoon. There is no cost to be a part of this job fair but you will need to preregister.

That fair will be live from 1 pm to 4 pm. Friday's job fair will be online from 9 am to 12 Noon and it will seek to help place individuals in the Information Technologies sector or those seeking Apprenticeships.
