During the summer months, when youths are out of school, the Ville Platte Police Department is vowing to enforce the state's juvenile curfew more strictly.

Police Chief Neal Lartigue told our news partner KATC, Ville Platte does not have a particular problem with minors being out past curfew, but these incidents usually increase during the summer.

The state's juvenile curfew policy states juveniles are not allowed out between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday restrictions mandate minors must be indoors between midnight and 5 a.m.
