Dr. Jim Henderson, President of the University System of Louisiana, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the System's new initiative, Compete Louisiana.

Henderson tells KEEL listeners that Compete LA is a move to help folks across the state who have some college, but no degree, to complete their education.

From Compete LA:

"Compete LA is a program designed to re-engage the 653,000 Louisianians with some college credit, but no degree.Compete LA offers innovative course schedules and delivery, effective student support systems through its personal coaching model, and closer connections to community partners to provide returning adults an opportunity to earn a college degree."

Henderson explains that the college degree is "a ticket to social mobility and economic prosperity, which is why the Universities of Louisiana are dedicated to developing the talent necessary to elevate the state to its full potential."
