101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about Governor John Bel Edwards just cancelled visit to Shreveport and KEEL, the trip postponed because of Tropical Storm Barry.

The morning duo discuss what questions they had planned to ask the state's chief executive, and what issues the they see as the most important  facing the state.

McCarty passionately - once again - endorsed the building of the I-49 Inner City Connector and emphasized the importance of building the 3.9 mile stretch as soon as possible. Erin tells KEEL listeners that, in her opinion, the Governor's backing of building the road, and making it the same high priority as he did the new exit to Barksdale Air Force Base.

RJW, meanwhile, cites a recent study by the Congressional Office that an increase to the country's minimum wage (to $15 per hour) would cost the country 1.3 million jobs. The Governor has continually pushed the legislature to increase the state's minimum wage, a move that has failed in the previous two legislative sessions.
