Wildfire In Northern Arizona Forces Evacuations
OAK CREEK CANYON, Ariz. (AP) — A wildfire in northern Arizona has forced evacuations in a two-mile stretch of Oak Creek Canyon and it's zero percent contained.
The 450-acre blaze was fed by winds. And another wildfire that's estimated to cover about 100 acres, is 20 percent contained.
Authorities say it was sparked by a vehicle.
On Tuesday it closed Interstate 17 near Cordes Junction in both directions for about four hours, causing a traffic backup for miles.
