Wildfires East Of Los Angeles Could Get Worse
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (AP) — Winds threatening to pick up again near a 1,000-acre wildfire in the foothills east of Los Angeles have prompted officials to close four area high schools for another day today.
Meanwhile, more than 700 firefighters remain on the front lines battling the blaze with some 55 fire engines and bulldozers.
High winds are preventing them from using aircraft.
