Youngsville Assistant Police Chief Charged In “Party” Trolley Crash

The Lafayette District attorney's office is investigating charges filed against Youngsville's assistant Police Chief.

44-year-old Gregory Carrier was charged "today" with DWI and careless operation of a vehicle for an incident that took place in early January.
State Police tell KPEL News Carrier was trying to help a "party" trolley that was stuck in the mud...
He got behind the wheel and when he pushed on the gas....the trolley went crashing into the tow truck that was there to help.
Youngsville Police Officials tell confirmed with KPEL this afternoon that Carrier was trying to help the stuck trolley...and is still working on the force as usual.
Carrier was hospitalized with minor injuries from that incident.
State Police say he refused a breathalyzer test.
