The last of the Saints storied 2006 draft class has officially retired.

Today, Saints offensive lineman Zach Strief said his goodbyes at his official retirement. Strief was taken by the Saints in the 7th round of the 2006 draft and during his 12-year career in New Orleans was a team captain and and Super Bowl Champion.

Strief thanked the Who Dat Nation, calling them the "greatest fans in sports."

He also gave an emotional "thank you" to Drew Brees—the man he protected during his time with the Saints. His message brought Drew to tears.

Zach Strief may have retired today, but I think I speak for all true Saints fans when I say he will forever be a Saint. One Saints fan summed it up perfectly.

Zach, go to retirement knowing you have never let Drew or this franchise down. You were a Saints all your career and have represented this team as best as anyone can. You have kept Drew playing and injury free. Will miss you on the line. Best there is to you, Zach.

Thanks for everything Zach. You're a Saint for life! #WHODAT
