ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (KPEL) -- Eight people in St. Martin Parish were arrested Tuesday evening after police discovered they were allegedly operating a meth lab.

According to Maj. Ginny Higgins with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office, police received a complaint that illegal drug activity was occurring at the Duchamp Road home.

When police arrived, Higgins said they found an "active Clandestine Laboratory 'meth lab.'"

Arrested were 40-year-old Richard Fontenot of Broussard, 25-year-old Jeremiah Richard of Abbeville, 52-year-old Victor Rivoire of Lafayette, 50-year-old Geraldine Soto of Morgan City, 36-year-old Jessica Aucoin of Broussard, 32-year-old Amanda Francis of Broussard, 43-year-old Grady Domino of St. Martinville, and 33-year-old Christina Soto of Broussard.

All eight were charged with operation of a meth lab, possession of meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
