Lafayette Man Arrested In Failed Robbery Attempt

43-year-old Raymond Zeno is behind bars after he was caught allegedly trying to steal from a store in the 800 block of West Simcoe Street.

Corporal Paul Mouton with Lafayette Police says, while responding to an activated alarm at the business around 2:40 a.m., officers saw Zeno putting items into a large bag. Mouton says Zeno tried to get away, even after police had the business surrounded. But he was eventually arrested on the scene.

Zeno has been charged with Simple Burglary of Business and Resisting an Officer.
