We all thought that we'd be out of this Coronavirus pandemic by now.  It's frustrating to to say the least that we still have to practice social distancing guidelines, wear masks, and more to keep this disease at bay - but if we don't, it seems like this "shutdown mode" we're in will never end.  I don't know about you, but I don't want this to be the "new normal."

Unfortunately, we don't seem to be doing to good in that respect.  The White House issued their latest report on the state of our state in respects to COVID-19 infection numbers, and it's bad.  51 parishes in Louisiana have been classified as "Red Zones," and that includes Caddo and Bossier.

The White House Coronavirus Task Force is constantly monitoring the country county by county (or parish by parish, as is the case in Louisiana).  After the data on new cases, deaths, and recovery are collected and sorted - the numbers are sent to the governors of those states.  Each area is given a green (good to go), yellow (OK to go out with several restrictions), or red (additional restrictions may be needed).

The task force suggested that parishes in the red adhere to the following restrictions:

  • wear a mask at all times outside the home
  • limit gatherings to 10 people or fewer
  • close bars and gyms
  • outdoor dining at restaurants
