Acadiana Friday Football Forecast – Wet, Windy, And Colder
Fans of football under the Friday night lights, translation high school football, will finally get a bit of a taste of what football weather is supposed to feel like. The only problem is those cooler, not quite frozen tundra, temperatures will likely come with some precipitation.
As high school football enters the second half of the regular season the games scheduled for Friday night could encounter some issues with weather. We don't think severe weather will be the problem, just some rain showers and then cooler and more breezy conditions should move across the stadiums hosting games on Friday evening.
The catalyst for this windy, cool, and wet weather is a cold front. That front is currently situated across the midsection of the nation and is expected to push into Louisiana during the day on Friday. Forecasters with the National Weather Service say the best chances for showers will come late Friday afternoon and early Friday evening.
As the front moves through the area temperatures are expected to begin falling rather rapidly. Those falling temperatures will likely be made to feel colder thanks to a stiff breeze coming out of the north at about 25 miles per hour following the frontal passage.
The rest of the weekend weather looks nice. Skies should quickly clear during the day on Saturday and some of the coolest temperatures of the season are expected to noted by sunrise on Sunday.
