Acadiana came together today for the national moment of silence and prayer for the Arizona shooting victims.

From the U.L. campus to local government offices, many took the time to remember those killed and injured in the senseless shooting.

Acadiana's youth mourned the loss as well.

Classroom discussions and moments of silence were observed at many Lafayette public schools.

Students at Teurlings Catholic High School said a special prayer over the loudspeaker for victims.

In New Iberia, students from fourth to twelfth grade at Catholic High prayed for congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords who was critically wounded and the six who were killed including nine year old Christina Taylor Green.
