A good bit of North America just experienced record-breaking cold, leaving millions without power, potable water, and heat.

Prior to this type of winter weather, certain precautions should be taken to protect your home, your pets, and your life. Insulating vulnerable pipes and plants, securing warm accommodations for your pets, stocking up on non-perishables and water for you and your family are the main issues with which to be concerned.
