Ag Boss: Medical Marijuana on the Verge of Availability [VIDEO]
Louisiana's Agriculture Commissioner Dr. Mike Strain talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the news that medical marijuana could be available at licensed pharmacies within the next two weeks.
More from apnews.com:
"Louisiana’s first medical marijuana products are one step away from pharmacies, with final testing planned for this week.
Agriculture Commissioner Mike Strain, whose department oversees the therapeutic cannabis program, said that if the product collected Monday from GB Sciences is free of contaminants, medical marijuana could reach patients early next week.
Strain said he’s hopeful the testing will clear the product for release."
Strain tells KEEL listeners that if problems with the samples are detected, availability would be delayed. But he added that he anticipates no problems.
When available, medical marijuana will be available, with a prescription, at Shreveport's Hope Pharmacy on Kings Highway.
