April 21 Louisiana COVID-19 Update
The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Tuesday, April 21.
There are now 24,854 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. 6,578 tests have been completed by state labs and 144,259 tests have been reported by commercial labs. Numbers show that there are 1,798 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized with 297 of them on ventilators.
The total amount of coronavirus cases in the Acadiana region is 1,303 with 90 deaths reported.
Lafayette Parish: 429 cases, 17 deaths
St. Martin Parish: 193 cases, 13 deaths
Iberia Parish: 195 cases, 10 deaths
St. Mary Parish: 160 cases, 16 deaths
St. Landry Parish: 136 cases, 26 deaths
Acadia Parish: 114 cases, 7 deaths
Evangeline Parish: 43 cases
Vermilion Parish: 33 cases, 1 death
There is more widespread representation throughout the state as all 64 parishes now have at least one confirmed case of COVID-19. The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 1,405. New Orleans continues to be the hardest-hit area of the state. The next update is due out tomorrow at noon.
