Breaking: Officer Who Shot Alton Sterling Fired From BRPD
One of two officers who were involved in the shooting death of Alton Sterlinmg has been fired from the Baton Rouge Police Department.
BRPD Police Chief Murphy Paul said as he concluded his press conference, officer Blane Salimoni has been terminated from the BRPD effective today, while fellow officer Howie Lake will be suspended for three days.
Paul says Salamoni violated the use of force policy and displayed poor tempermeant. Graphic body camera video has been released and it shows a violent struggle before Salamoni fired six gun shots into the body of Sterling.

Set to be released is video from the officers' body cams, video from the convenience store where Sterling was shot and the fate of the officers involved-- Howie Lake and Blane Salimoni.
