Buddy Roemer for President? Former Governor Roemer says he's going to seriously consider whether a run for the White House is right for him. Mr. Roemer says he's angered by bloated budgets and swelling federal deficits under Democratic leadership in the White House and Congress. Roemer, a staunch fiscal conservative, was governor of the state from 1988 to 1992. Before that he served six years in the U.S. House. Roemer says he's about to go on a "listening tour", to feel out the possibility of stepping into national politics again. Roemer says he wants to gauge public reaction to his fiscal proposals for America, but stops short of declaring his candidacy for the Oval Office.
