The fourth annual AutoNation Cure Bowl between the Ragin' Cajuns and the Tulane Green Wave ended in a 41-24 defeat for Louisiana.

Things started off with Louisiana receiving the football and they would make quick work of it as Raymond Calais got them off to a hot start. He scampered to the left side and scorched the Green Wave defense for a 38-yard score to get the Cajuns out to a quick 7-0 lead.

It was a great start for the Cajuns but it would be all Green Wave from here on out for the first half for the most part. Tulane poured it on the Louisiana defense scoring 24 unanswered points while their defense stymied the UL offense.

However, late in the second half, the Cajuns got the galvanizing play that they so desperately needed on defense as the Green Wave was driving into UL territory it was Bralen Trahan who stepped in front of a Justin McMillian pass for the interception. Trahan took it back 63 yards to the Green Wave 37-yard line and that return set up a 43-yard Kyle Pfau field goal as time expired in the half. 24-10 Tulane.

Heading into the second half as a Cajun fan you didn't feel so bad about being down by 14 with the momentum that was created at the end of the first half. The defense would come up with a huge stop on a 4th and 2 to continue with the good mojo.

Coming back on the next drive the offense came out confident, specifically quarterback Andre Nunez who threw for just 18 yards in the first half completed passes of 26 and 25 respectively to Ja'Marcus Bradley. Louisiana would finish off the drive with a three-yard score by Elijah Mitchell. That pulled them to within a touchdown at 24-17.

That would be all the scoring we would see in the third quarter but in the fourth Tulane added a field goal and UL got closer by grabbing another touchdown, this time via Andre Nunez to Bam Jackson on a third and goal from the 13-yard line. 27-24 Tulane.

Unfortunately, that's as close as the Cajuns would get as things began to look bleak, on the next drive for Tulane they engineered a terrific drive, for their sake, that spanned 13 plays and nearly six and a half minutes that resulted in a touchdown. The touchdown was scored by Darius Bradwell who had himself quite the ballgame. Justin McMillian would then add a 16-yard rushing touchdown and that was all she wrote as the game wrapped up 41-24 in way of the Tulane Green Wave.

With the loss, the Ragin' Cajuns fell to 7-7 on the season. It's not how they wanted to finish the year but they have a ton to be proud of in Billy Napier's first year at the helm for this program, can't wait to see what they're able to do in 2019.
