The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns opening night game in the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Tournament was suspended by weather with Louisiana leading 8-7 in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The game will be resumed Thursday morning at 8:30.

The decision was made at 11;35 after lightning in the area was forecast to remain in the area.

When the game resumes, the Cajuns will have runners on second and third with two out and a 2-2 count on Kennon Fontenot.

Louisiana (33-23) built a 7-1 lead after two innings, taking advantage of three Little Rock errors in the first inning to score two runs and then tallying five more in the second on an RBI single by Gavin Bourgeois and Hunter Kasuls' grand slam home run.

But Little Rock (28-26), who was shut out by Cajuns' starter Colten Schmidt last month, scored twice in the third inning on Riley Pittman's two run double and got four more in the fourth on an RBI single by Marcus Ragan and a three run homer by Kale Emshoff.

The Cajuns took the lead on Kasuls' RBI single in the fourth and was the last man to complete an at-bat before play was halted.

The winner of the game moves to a winner's bracket game scheduled for 7:30 against Troy, while the loser will have to return at 12:30 to meet Texas State in an elimination game.
