The Louisiana sugarcane harvest is wrapping up and producers are pleased with the results of this year's crop. LSU Agcenter sugarcane specialist Kenneth Gravois says compared with last year, this harvest has been much drier and easier. Gravois says growers are harvesting lighter tonnage, but the sucrose is above average. He says the weather has also cooperated with growers this year. Gravois says cane prices for growers are also at decent levels right now.
