Chef Mould Says – You’re Eating Some Things Incorrectly!
Chef Pat Mould visited 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today discussed a number of foods that we are eating incorrectly.
Those foods include:
- Bananas
- Pistachios
- Pomegranates
- Sushi
- Apples
- Mussels
When it comes to bananas Chef Mould said,
Instead of peeling bananas from the stem end we should squeeze the bottom of the banana and the skin will pop apart. We have monkeys to thank for that technique because that's how monkeys eat bananas. We've been doing it wrong for all these years.
Sushi is another food that can be eaten incorrectly. According to Mould,
There's a lot of etiquette when it comes to eating sushi especially in Japan. Nigiri sushi which is a sliver of fish on top of rice. You should be dipping your fish into the sauce first. Think about it for a second. How many times have you dipped the rice into the soy wasabi mixture and the rice has just crumbled...It's totally acceptable, as a matter of fact it is the norm in Japan to eat your sushi with your hands.
We asked for another example of a common food we eat incorrectly and Chef Mould said,
Apples. This is really the interesting one for me. We should be eating the whole apple...The core of the apple is really pretty innocuous when it comes to eating...The only thing you have to worry about is the seeds and technically I've been told you can eat the seeds if you want. Just swallow them and they won't do anything horrible to you.
