Louisiana's statewide 211 network is now taking calls 24/7 in regards to the coronavirus in our state.

Spend any amount of time on Facebook and you'll see that many people have many questions amid this COIVD-19 outbreak. To help provide information to residents accross our state, Louisiana Department of Health is now working with the statewide 211 network to answer questions and provide up-to-date information.

The 211 service has previously been used in natural disasters like hurricanes. Billioux says the department has previously had a 1-800 information line for COVID-19, but it was only staffed from 8am to 4:30 PM. 211 will answer questions 24/7.

There is also a text alert system available by texting LACOVID to 898-211
