Two people are locked up today after police allege they are responsible for a little boy's death.

Sheriff's officials say that 24-year-old Shamira Kimbrough, the mother of the child, and 25-year-old Christian Coutee, her significant other, have been accused of not getting Kimbrough's little boy help.

Investigators say that first responders were called to help the boy yesterday, but he later died at a hospital.

Around two weeks ago, police say the 11 month old boy was burned severely on the bottom portion of his body.

Officers say that the little boy's burns were not tended to properly, and they say the boy died because of it.

Both Kimbrough and Coutee have been charged with second-degree murder along with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile.
