Don's Seafood recently wrapped up a $2 renovation project of its six south Louisiana restaurants.

The iconic 85-year-old business put in about $300,000 to $400,000 per restaurant aimed at enhancing their brand.

The renovations involved putting a new façade on restaurants, larger interior waiting spaces, a redesigned hostess stand, new flooring, and revamped booths.

“We changed all the signage, all the menus,” Donny Landry, one of the restaurant’s owners, told the Acadiana Advocate. All of this was part of an effort to build up the Don's brand he said.

Landry said that some of the restaurants saw an 18% to 20% increase in sales while the work was going on because customers were curious as to what was happening. "It created a lot of excitement," he said.

Don's started in Lafayette but now has locations also in Covington, Denham Springs, Gonzales, Hammond and Metairie. The Lafayette restaurant is located at 4309 Johnston St.
