New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is no stranger to being an entrepreneur. And now his latest investment venture involves a company based right here in Lafayette.

According to techcrunch.com, Brees is investing in the food delivery service app Waitr.

The story quotes Brees as saying:

The first thing that grabbed my attention about Waitr was the impact it had on one of our companies, Walk-Ons Bistreaux and Bar. It was increasing our sales at each location by 10 percent or more. As I began to learn more about the company, there was no doubt in my mind it would be a leader in food delivery.

Waitr has quickly become a popular food delivery service in the markets it serves. They deliver in Lafayette, New Orleans, Lake Charles, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Houston, Beaumont, Tuscaloosa (Ala), Hoover (Ala), Roseville (Cal), and Sacramento (Cal).

Brees has his hands in many other franchises including Dunkin' Donuts, Jimmy John's and the aforementioned Walk-Ons.
