BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — A Denham Springs man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison in the 2009 death of a woman in a speed-related truck crash. The Advocate reports that state District Judge Mike Erwin sentenced 25-year-old Dallas Howard on Thursday. Howard pleaded guilty in November to one count each of vehicular homicide and first-degree vehicular negligent injuring. Twenty-six-year-old Cassi Brashier, of Central, died in the crash. Richard Marley, of Denham Springs, was seriously injured. Brashier and Marley were passengers in Howard's truck. State police say Howard was speeding on an East Baton Rouge Parish road when his truck left the roadway and hit a tree stump.
