Today Walt Bennetti, political blogger from ClickJefferson.com joined 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' and discussed the Fifth Congressional race, a property tax election in Lafourche Parish

A property tax proposal failed this past Saturday in Lafourche Parish and according to Bennetti,

This is hysterical.  At least I think it's hysterical.  Lafourche Parish voters on Saturday said 'no' to a proposal that would have moved a property tax from money that went to the public library to build a new jail.  They say the jail in Lafourche Parish is one of the worst in the country and the federal government is going to take it over.

Bennetti said the need for a new jail was not comical but statements by a Parish Councilman were.

In leading up to the election a Parish Councilman in Lafourche criticized the library because they teach English to Hispanic people.  He also said 'them junkies and hippies and food stamp users and all, they use the library to look at drugs and food stamps on the internet.  I seen 'em'.

In Saturday's election in the Fifth Congressional District a political newcomer was elected and embarrassed Governor Jindal.  Bennetti said,

The Governor got packing with his tail wagging.  He sent his political consultant Timmy Teepell, who helped run previous campaigns for the Governor to work with State Senator Neil Riser.  Obviously Neil Riser lost by a 60-40 percent margin.  That was huge. To businessman, first time candidate Vance McAllister who had the backing of the Robertsons of Duck Dynasty.

Bennetti had a lot more to say about the Fifth Congressional race, Governor Jindal and Obmacare and you can hear all of his comments by listening to the interview:
