ESA Student From Crowley Picked For Senate Youth Program
A student at the Episcopal School of Acadiana has been picked to represent Louisiana in the United States Senate Youth Program.
Grant Suire, Crowley, will join Senators Bill Cassidy and John Kennedy during the 59th annual USSYP Washington Week in March. Because of this year's pandemic, the program will be held virtually. In addition to taking part in the program, Suire will receive a $10,000 college scholarship.
Suire is one of only two students from Louisiana and one of 104 across the United States selected to take part in the program.
Suire is a senior at ESA. He is the president of his class and a member of the Cum Laude Society. He is the president of the Louisiana Legislative Youth Advisory Council, the captain of the ESA quiz bowl team, and a governor of Louisiana's YMCA Youth and Government Program.
"Grant's focus has always been public service," said Dr. Kat Movassaghi, the head of ESA's upper school. "He wholeheartedly engages in clubs and events that will help him to grow his skills, so advancing in this program is no surprise. Grant will continue to hone and expand his work as a public servant as he moves on to college, and I know he will be the kind of future leader that we wish to elect."
