Former UL Coach Mark Hudspeth Offers LCA’s Fitzgerald West

Lafayette Christian Academy defensive tackle Fitzgerald West has received a scholarship offer from a program whose head coach is very familiar to folks in the Acadiana area.

Austin Peay, who's coached by former Louisiana Ragin' Cajun head coach Mark Hudspeth, recently issued a scholarship offer to West.

Hudspeth, who coached Louisiana for seven seasons, from 2011-2017, has guided Austin Peay to an impressive 7-3 mark in his first season with the Governors.

The 6-foot-2, 328-pound West is currently a sophomore and is scheduled to graduate in the spring of 2022.

West has also reportedly been offered by such schools as Colorado, Tulane, McNeese, and Arkansas-Monticello.
