Get The Most Out Of Your One Cup Of Coffee
For a lot of people whose day starts several hours before the sun rises coffee is not just a luxury it is a necessity. As someone who is a self admitted caffeine junkie I find it hard to believe that some people only drink one cup of coffee per day. I have more cups of coffee before 6 AM than most people do in a week. No, it's not healthy and thank you for pointing out the obvious Dr. Oz.
This isn't about me, it's about you and your one cup of Joe that you drink every day for whatever reason. Did you realize that drinking that cup of coffee right after you get out of bed is not the best time to take advantage of all the energy boosting flavor that coffee has to offer?
This startling revelation has to do with the your hormones. Specifically a hormone called cortisol, it's also called the "stress hormone". It's something that we all have and the peak time for our bodies to have the highest level of cortisol is between 8 AM and 9 AM. When cortisol is doing its thing your body is less receptive to that coffee achieving goodness.
There is also a peak in the cortisol levels in the body between Noon and 1 PM and between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM so you shouldn't slam down a latte at those times either.
When is the best time to drink that hot steaming mug of jittery fun? Most experts say that during your traditional coffee break time around 10 AM. That is when you will actually get the most benefit from your one cup of coffee, that is if you only drink just one.
By the way if you're looking for a caffeine boost in the morning and want to combine it with your healthy breakfast eat an apple. While apples do not have caffeine in them and they are a great way to wake up your digestive system and supply a nice shot of energy to your system.
