Tom Gresham, host of Gun Talk, heard Sundays on 101.7 / 710 KEEL from 1 til 4pm, talks with KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the importance of the 2nd Amendment.

Gresham emphasizes the right to keep and bear arms with the phrase, "should government have a monopoly on force?" and makes the case for an armed citizenry by citing the current situation in Venezuela, as well as the recent 30th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square riots in China.

"The reason the 2nd Amendment was written in the first place," emphasizes Gresham, "It came out of a violent war for our freedom, our independence. It is about making sure that people do not suffer under the tyranny of the government. It's not about duck hunting. It's not about sport shooting. The 2nd Amendment is about our checks and balances - our ultimate checks and balances - on the government."
