“The Lafayette Food Junkie Show,” which has been airing from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday nights here on Newstalk 96.5 KPEL, has given Lafayette and the Acadiana area its own show dedicated to the food we all love to enjoy and talk about since November of 2013!

On this week's show, Tiffiany Decou, the "Lafayette Food Junkie," and Brandon Comeaux (filling in for Chef Zack Doise) talked with representatives from two upcoming events that will combine great food with giving back to the community.

First up was Celina Allemand with Frank's International. They will be holding their 3rd Annual Chili Cookoff on November 7, this year at Cajun Field. The event, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, will benefit United Way of Acadiana. It only costs $5 to get in, which will allow you to sample more than 85 different chilies.

Next up was Jenny with "Death by Chocolate," an event benefitting the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra. This event will be Monday, November 10 at the Petroleum Club. This unique event gives you the chance to sip on chocolate martinis, eat chocolate dishes made by local restaurants (includes chocolate paired with meats, not just as desserts), live music and a lively auction. General admission tickets are $40.
