Here’s Why You Should Sleep On Your Left Side
I toss & turn a little, alternating between my back and left side. Sleeping on your stomach is bad for your lower back.
It's healthier to sleep on your left side than your right. Why? There are several reasons.
When you sleep on your right side, the esophagus is on the downside of your stomach, allowing backflow of gastric juices, potentially causing acid reflux. If you sleep on your left side, the esophagus is at the top of your stomach, keeping that stuff where it belongs.
Sleeping on the left side also reduces snoring, according to diply.com. This position also allows lymphatic drainage, easing the workload on the heart, and aids digestion.
If your significant other is a snorer, or complains about heartburn, make him or her start sleeping on the left & see what happens.
