FROGMORE, La. (AP) — Fire has damaged a historic home on a Louisiana plantation.

News outlets report flames engulfed a house Friday evening at the Frogmore Plantation. The 1,800 acre (730 hectare) property in Concordia Parish includes a cotton gin that's on the National Register of Historic Places.

Concordia Fire District 2 Chief Nolen Cothren told the Natchez Democrat two firefighters became overheated battling the flames but are OK. No other injuries were reported.

Homeowner Lynette Tanner says the house was built in 1815. She says she and her husband bought the property in 1960.

The plantation has been open for public tours. Tanner says the house wasn't a part of the tour and the rest of the property remains open for visitors.

Cothren says the cause of the fire isn't yet known.
