One of the most iconic dresses in pop culture history is going up on the auction block again. Diana, Princess of Wales famously wore the midnight blue Victor Edelstein evening gown to a November 9, 1985 state dinner at the White House. President Ronald Reagan was in office, and the Princess strolled the dance floor with actor John Travolta in the beautiful velvet gown, which was partnered with accessories that included a sapphire, diamond and pearl choker necklace and sapphire and diamond earrings.

It was previously auctioned by Christie's for $222,500 in the 1997, breaking a record for a garment item sold. The Princess, before her death, had requested that the gorgeous dress be auctioned for AIDS and cancer charities. It is being offered by Kerry Taylor Auctions on December 9, and is expected to fetch as much as $453,800. See the princess and the dress in the video below.
