LOS ANGELES (AP) — Shelly Sterling's binding contract to sell the Los Angeles Clippers to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer may be called into question.

Mrs. Sterling says in a statement that she made the $2 billion deal "under her authority as the sole trustee of The Sterling Family Trust, which owns the Clippers."

But attorneys for her estranged husband say Donald Sterling is a co-owner and must agree to the deal.

He was banned from the NBA for life after he was recorded making racist comments.
