Parts of Texas got hammered with severe weather and torrential rainfall.  Last month, one area in Texas had so much rain that it caused flash flooding.  A picture from Kirbyville, Texas, posted to Facebook showed what happened after that flash flooding.  Caskets are seen casually lying on the ground in a cemetery Kerbyville is located north of Beaumont.



THE LATEST ABOUT THE HOUSTON STORMS:

At one point, more than 1 million power outages were reported in Texas, most in the Houston area. Large electricity towers have been destroyed and schools have been canceled for Friday throughout Houston.

According to weather.com, residents were warned to brace for extended power outages due to damage to 10 major power transmission lines.

“If you are tied into the transmission lines that fell, those huge towers, that can take weeks (to restore)," Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, the top county official, said at the news conference. "There are some people in the county that are going to have to go weeks without power.”

WHILE WE ARE ON THE TOPIC OF CASKETS:

Some people in Galveston were freaked out by the appearance of a casket on the beach!  The comments went wild, however, there is an easy explanation for this one. It turns out that the casket was placed there for a commercial. According to the post, a commercial is currently being filmed for "Haunted Ghost Tours." How would you react if you were driving along the beach and just saw a casket lying on the shore?

THE FLOOD OF 98 IN SOUTH TEXAS:

Just in case you didn't remember, the Guadalupe crested in Victoria at 33.85 feet at 2 p.m. that Tuesday afternoon, October 20, 1998. The flood stage is 21 feet. While those numbers were high, Cuero had it much worse. The Guadalupe River in Cuero crested at 49.8 feet in Cuero, flood stage is 20 feet.
