3 Tragic Louisiana Deaths Confirmed, Including an Infant, after Latest Storms

Officials in St. Martin Parish confirmed Monday night that one person had died as a result of severe storms including intense winds that moved through the state, but that was not the only parish that recorded a death.

Sadly, officials with the West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office say a woman died when a tree fell on top of her home according to WBRZ.

The Louisiana Department of Health has confirmed that in addition to the woman's death, her 9-month-old fetus did not survive either. The death is being counted as the third death to have occurred due to weather incidents.

With this event, WBRZ adds an adult male was injured when the tree went into the Port Allen home at around 7:30 in the evening. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

A 5-year-old child was with the couple when this tragedy happened. The child was not harmed physically in this terrible weather incident.

Officials from the website, https://unfilteredwithkiran.com, report the home on Rougon Road was difficult to get to as the storm had left debris strewn about the place, so much so, that paramedics had to walk about a mile to get to the home.

This all happened in the Erwinville area of West Baton Rouge Parish which received plenty of damage due to high winds.

In St. Martin Parish, Henderson Mayor Sherbin Collette and St. Martin Parish Sheriff Becket Breaux confirmed, via a video on social media Monday night, that there was a death near the town of Henderson. They believe it was likely a tornado that struck the area.

The Louisiana Department of Health reports a female from Cecilia died after high winds toppled her camper.
