(Baton Rouge, Louisiana) - LSU formally introduced its new head football coach to fans Thursday night as Lane Kiffin made an appearance in the PMAC on the campus at LSU.

For several days, there was speculation that Lane Kiffin would drive down I-10 to watch his former team, Ole Miss, take on Georgia in the Superdome. Still, the new head football coach for the LSU Tigers decided to stay home and attend the LSU Women's Basketball game against Kentucky.

Kiffin was brought out of the dressing room like a WWE Superstar with smoke and lights, and was hand-in-hand with LSU Women's Basketball Coach Kim Mulkey.

In the video below, listen to the ovation Coach Kiffin got from the LSU faithful. Unfortunately his appearance did not bring a victory as the Tigers lost to the Wildcats in a very close game. Still, you can sense the excitement from LSU fans as Lane Kiffin takes over the prestigious football program in Baton Rouge.

While Coach Kiffin elected to stay in Baton Rouge, his family drove into New Orleans to see Ole Miss defeat Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. Here's a photo Kiffin shared on social media showing his family in the Superdome on Thursday night.
