As storms swept across south Louisiana on Friday afternoon, a number of places in Acadiana reported and witnessed damage.

News 15 went to Grand Couteau to report on the damage there after a tree fell on a car, and they found an eyewitness to the incident.

One man described hearing the lightning strike a tree and he is so animated by what happened that he has become the story.

He tells the reporter for News 15 that he opened the door to the house to see what was going on and that's when he heard "A Boom." He says that he thought someone may have been shooting.
