Louisiana Ranks 49th in Happiest States Report

(KMDL-FM) - How happy are you with your personal life? According to a recent poll, only 44% of Americans said they are "very satisfied" with the way their personal life is going.

Here in Louisiana, you’d think it would be higher than that. I mean, we are all about "joie de vivre" and "letting the good times roll."

You would think doing the latter would lead to people of the Bayou State being some really happy people. However, according to the personal-finance company WalletHub and its latest report, we may not be as happy as we think.

The report is on 2025's Happiest States in America, and it was meant to find where Americans have the highest satisfaction with life.

The report compared all 50 states across 30 key indicators of happiness. The data set ranges from the depression rate and the share of adults feeling productive to income growth and the unemployment rate.

After all that analysis was done, here are the top 10 Happiest States in America:

Maryland
Nebraska
New Jersey
Connecticut
Utah
California
New Hampshire
Massachusetts
Idaho

So where did Louisiana rank on this list? Unfortunately, Louisiana came in at a dismal #49.

Emotional Well-Being - 49th
